New DeKalb Superintendent Shares Her Plans For Upcoming School Year
The DeKalb County School District recently named a new superintendent to lead the school system.
Cheryl Watson-Harris was officially sworn in July 1 at the district’s Stone Mountain headquarters.
However, this wasn’t your typical swearing-in ceremony. This year’s event was livestreamed, and those who did attend wore masks.

This is just one of many ways the new academic school year will be different for teachers, parents and students due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Superintendent Watson-Harris joined host Rose Scott to share her plans for the upcoming school year and to discuss factors she will weigh when determining when to bring students back to the classroom.
