Douglas Bell is the Vice President of Radio & Operations at WABE. He manages local and national programming on WABE 90.1 and oversees the daily program Closer Look with Rose Scott as well as WABE’s weekend music and cultural programming. He also oversees the Radio Operations and Traffic teams and manages station relations for WABE’s nationally-syndicated programming.
Before coming to Atlanta in 2024, he spent more than 10 years at WAMU in Washington, D.C., first as a newsroom intern, then a broadcast engineer, Operations Manager, and finally as the station’s Program Director. He has a B.A. in Public Communication and an M.A. in Journalism from American University.
