Emma Hurt is a reporter for WABE News. She came to WABE from the print world, where she freelanced for the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Trucks.com.
She previously covered the trucking industry for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette out of Northwest Arkansas. She spent a lot of time in truck stops and truck cabs there but has yet to get her own commercial driver’s license.
She graduated from Rice University with a degree in history. A native of Washington, D.C. she is excited to be telling stories in Georgia, where she has family roots. She’s also excited to have easy access to both the mountains and the salt marsh, since she can never decide between them.
