How many years have you been in Atlanta?

“2.”

Why is the work WABE does in amplifying Atlanta vital to our communities?

“Our job is to hunt for the stories from people who are not just the most powerful or accessible.”

What’s your favorite part about being a part of the WABE team?

“Definitely ‘man on the street’ interviews in the name of public radio. You never know what you’ll get. Besides being part of cool WABE events like the #SoundsLikeATL concert series and swag scavenger hunts, it’s interesting to get to know my community by reporting on what matters most to them. I’ve also gotten to meet people like former ATL Mayor and UN Ambassador Andrew Young, rapper Killer Mike… and I would be lying if I didn’t admit I love being on air once and a while, and putting more time into my own feature stories.”

What makes Atlanta “Atlanta”? What makes the Greater Metro area special?

“Those spots like Church in Edgewood, how Atlanta brunch somehow always involves Hookah and a DJ, your favorite coffee shop, the traditional Korean Jeju Sauna and bathhouse, Buford Highway eats .. the arts and culture here. This city has everything, and we can’t just boil it down to a few great BBQ spots and Magic City.”
