- 1:23: Lois Reitzes talks with author Amor Towles about his book “A Gentleman in Moscow,” the story of Count Alexander Rostov, a Russian aristocrat arrested by the Bolsheviks during the Revolution. Towles will discuss his book April 10 at the Marcus JCC Atlanta at 7:30 p.m..
- 34:33: Valerie Boyd and Pearl McHaney join Reitzes for a discussion about “Barracoon: The Story of the Last ‘Black Cargo.’” The work is the life story of Oluale Kossola, a slave-ship survivor, as told by him to Harlem Renaissance author Zora Neale Hurston. Boyd and McHaney will take part in a panel discussion about “Barracoon” April 12 at the Georgia Center for the Book in the Decatur Public Library to begin the Lost Southern Voices festival.
