- 0:00: We get an update on Hurricane Dorian’s path and WABE reporter Emil Moffatt joins the program to discuss how state officials are preparing.
- 9:12: The College Park City Council unanimously approved a plan late last month to transform a 320-acre plot of land into an ‘airport city.’ Artie Jones III, economic development director of the City of College Park, and Bill De. St. Aubin, CEO of the Sizemore Group architecture firm, join “Closer Look” in studio to share more details from the development’s master plan.
- 38:02: The nation’s adult obesity rate has reached 39.6%, according to a 2018 report from the Trust for America’s Health. Rates are even higher among Latinos and African-Americans. A recent study took a look at the connection between obesity and the black faith community. Dr. Keisha L. Bentley-Edwards, lead author of the study, “Investigating Denominational and Church Attendance Differences in Obesity and Diabetes in Black Christian Men and Women,” joins “Closer Look” from a studio at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina to discuss her findings.
