President of Association of Black Elected Officials Supports Slavery Resolution from GOP Senator

  For years, African-American lawmakers in Georgia tried, without success, to pass resolutions in which the state government apologized for its involvement in slavery.  This year, there’s a new proposal, but this one comes from a white Republican State Senator, Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville).  WABE’s Denis O’Hayer got reaction to the latest resolution–and its language–from Atlanta Democratic State Representative Tyrone Brooks, president of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials.
