WABE Launches Atlanta Arts & Culture Campaign

NEW CULTURE ASAP INITIATIVE CONNECTS THE COMMUNITY TO ATLANTA’S ARTS AND CULTURE SCENE

ATLANTA – Public Broadcasting Atlanta (PBA) announced today the launch of CULTURE ASAP, a new multi-platform campaign dedicated to amplifying Atlanta’s one-of-a-kind performance, arts and events scene.

Starting October 1, audiences can connect to CULTURE ASAP at wabe.org/cultureasap, a page dedicated to information and access to Atlanta’s world-class theaters, performers, galleries, and venues, created in partnership with local arts and culture organizations co-op, Art Currents.

“From grassroots organizations to globally-recognized institutions Atlanta’s arts and culture community is a vital part of creating a sense of belonging in our region,” says Public Broadcasting Atlanta CEO Jennifer Dorian. “We at PBA believe that’s a story worth amplifying, particularly in the face of COVID-19’s impact on live performances and events. Launching CULTURE ASAP to encourage Atlanta to support arts programming is a natural extension of PBA’s mission to connect Atlantans to the Greater Atlanta metro area.”

In addition to access to the Art Currents citywide events calendar, highlights of the CULTURE ASAP campaign include WABE coverage of local cultural moments and creators, including the recent ArtsVoteATL mayoral forum and stories from City Lights with LoisReitzes plus messaging on WABE, ATL-PBA, and in the Reporter Newspapers encouraging Atlantans to engage and stay connected to the arts.

“CULTURE ASAP’s message of staying connected, bringing along others, and acting as an arts advocate is the call to action our community needs,” says Rachel May, Art Currents co-founder and Producing Artistic Director of Synchronicity Theatre. “The support of our neighbors and partners like Public Broadcasting Atlanta is critical to maintaining the greater Atlanta area’s diverse, vibrant professional arts community.”
