WABE Welcomes New Politics Reporter Rahul Bali

The longtime journalist has two decades covering Georgia politics.

ATLANTA – WABE (90.1FM) welcomes a new voice to its Political Desk, reporter Rahul Bali, who began his career covering politics in 1994 as News Director at Georgia Tech’s WREK.

“The opportunity to join WABE’s team of amazing journalists was one I could not pass up,” says Bali. “It will be great to have the resources and the time to tell stories that impact our listeners.”

Prior to joining WABE, Bali held news anchor spots for the Oconee Radio Group and Cumulus Media, along with field reporting from the Georgia Capitol. He has also reported, produced and edited for CNN Radio, WSB Radio and Washington D.C.’s WTOP Radio.

“He is a perfect choice to bring the WABE audience across metro Atlanta all the news about the issues in Georgia that have such a big impact here.” says Alex Helmick, WABE managing editor.

Bali is a graduate of Georgia State University and serves on the Board of Directors of both the Atlanta Press Club and the Georgia Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. He is also the Radio and Podcasting Group Director for the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and is an active member of the Atlanta AAJA chapter. Bali has appeared as a panelist in several  Atlanta Press Club televised debates, including a 2020 Georgia U.S. Senate debate.
