Public Art Festival ELEVATE ‘Enlightens’ In Seventh Year
ELEVATE is Atlanta’s public art festival, hosted by the mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Through panel discussions, special exhibitions and performances and their annual block party, the festival aims to enlighten artists and the public about art and art resources in Atlanta. The festival is aptly themed “Enlighten” this year.
“City Lights” host spoke with the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs’ Public Art Program Manager Dorian McDuffie about the festival along with participating artist Maria Artemis. They spoke about some of the panel discussions, how artists can further conversations about gentrification and how ELEVATE has impacted the city over its seven years.
