Dubbed the “Notorious RBG,” U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a living legacy and unexpected pop culture icon.

The documentary “RBG” explores who Ginsburg is and her rise to the top. Directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen joined Lois Reitzes on “City Lights” to talk about digging into the previously unexplored life of the second woman to be appointed to the U.S.Supreme Court.

“Ruth Bader Ginsburg was quiet, reserved – not a flamethrower, not a fire brand,” said Cohen. “And yet, she made extraordinary changes.”

“RBG” premieres May 11 at Tara Cinema Tara Cinema and The Springs Cinema & Taphouse and expands on May 18 to Regal Atlantic Station.
