Atlanta now boasts many photography exhibits throughout the year, the galleries dedicated to photography and events such as Atlanta Celebrates Photography, which is ongoing during the entire month of October.

Simone is being honored with a retrospective at MOCA GA called “One Glass Eye,” which features about 140 of his pieces over his decades-long career.

“It’s a very emotional experience going over these thousands of images,” he said in an interview with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes. “A lot of the work in the show deals directly with the diversity of who we are [in Atlanta].”

Simone’s retrospective is on view at MOCA GA through Nov. 18. He gives an artist talk at 6:30 p.m this Thursday.
