The Reverend Dr. Ammie Davis has held many roles in her life — from serving as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps to most recently leading the congregation of Zion Chapel AME Church in her home state of Mississippi.

Now she has been called to serve as dean and president of her alma mater Turner Theological Seminary located in the Atlanta University Center, where she will help educate the next generation of religious leaders.

She joined “Morning Edition” to talk about what values she hopes to impart to future theologians.
