Long before Guy Fieri and “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” we had Jane and Michael Stern. The husband and wife team have been traveling the highways and byways of the USA since 1977, uncovering the best local eateries and celebrating regional American food.

The Sterns have three James Beard Awards and “The Splendid Table” fans are likely already familiar with their work. But they are perhaps best known for “Roadfood,” their guide to the best road trip eateries that are destinations unto themselves.

Lois Reitzes spoke with Jane and Michael Stern ahead of their “Dinner with Roadfood” event Wednesday evening at Terminus 330 near Centennial Olympic Park.
