Sickle Cell Advocates Push For Blood Donations, More Research During National Awareness Month

September is designated National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia has organized its 2021 conference for Sept. 25, with a focus on advances in research, alternative treatments, and mental wellness.
Blaze Eppinger works for the foundation and lives with the disease – he joined “Morning Edition” to talk about his own experience, the need to give blood, and inequities in medical research.
