South Atlanta Community Leaders Share Vision, Concerns For Neighborhoods

The shooting deaths of Rayshard Brooks and 8-year-old Secoriea Turner happened near the intersection of several South Atlanta communities.

Since then, local community leaders and activists have led calls for change — from demands to reform policing to calls for additional resources for legacy residents.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” leaders from the neighboring communities of Adair Park and Capitol View joined host Rose Scott to share their vision for the community, as well as their concerns.

This segment kicks off a new “Closer Look” series spotlighting local communities and representation across the city.

Guests:

  • Jenne Shepherd, local community activist
  • Christie Peters,  local community activist
  • J Lawrence Miller, president of Adair Park Today
