It’s called the “Georgia Coyote Challenge,” and it runs from March through August.

Each hunter who hands in a coyote carcass gets entered into a monthly drawing for chance to win a lifetime hunting license.

The DNR said cutting down on the coyote population will help protect native wildlife.

The Atlanta Coyote Project – a group that researches the animal in this area  issued a statement calling the challenge “inhumane and unwise.”
