StoryCorps Atlanta: ‘HIV Is Not Going To Stop Me’

StoryCorps Atlanta

Listen

October is National AIDS Awareness Month and today we bring you the story of 30-year-old Dwain Bridges.

Coming out of the closet can be tough. It can be harder when you fear – and then realize – that your family sometimes just won’t understand.

Such was the case for Detroit native Dwain Bridges. But, as he told his friend Jerome Hughes in the StoryCorps booth, it doesn’t mean the misunderstanding will linger.

This story was recorded in partnership with AID Atlanta.
