Target Celebrates Black Creatives, Designers During Black History Month

An illustrator and author being featured by one of the largest retailers in the country says she remembers the day she received an email from Target.
“I felt very seen and, like maybe, what I am doing is impacting, and, you know, just really resonating with people,” said Jena Holliday, owner and creator of Spoonful of Faith.
Holliday is one of several Black creators and designers who are collaborating with Target for Black History Month.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Holliday and Flora Ekpe-Idang, senior brand marketing manager at Target, talked with show host Rose Scott about the importance of diversity and inclusion, supporting Black-owned businesses and the initiatives that Target launched in celebration of Black History Month, including the Black Beyond Measure campaign.
“It’s important all day, every day to be supporting Black creators, Black designers and Black founders,” said Ekpe-Idang.
