Dance and jazz intertwine in a new show performed by the Atlanta Ballet.

“Heart/Beat: Gospel, Brubeck and Rhythms of the City” will showcase the three works by Alexander Ekman, Lar Lubovitch, and a world premiere by Dwight Rhoden. Rhoden collaborated with the Spelman Glee Club to set the dance performance to gospel and spiritual songs.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Spelman Glee club director Dr. Kevin Johnson and Atlanta Ballet artistic director Gennadi Nedvigin about the performances.

“Heart/Beat” will be held at the Cobb Energy Center Feb. 7-15.
