Metro Youth Symphony Educates Atlanta’s Young Musicians
Metro Youth Symphony Orchestras Of Atlanta, also known as “MYSO,” is celebrating its 30th season in Atlanta.
Students engage with classical works and take part in large ensemble performances. There are two divisions — the Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra.
“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes recently spoke with Catherine Hudnall, artistic director, and Executive Director Barbera Secrist about their upcoming winter concert.
“I feel like it is our job as music educators to support the students wherever their aspirations lie, whether that is to become an audience member later or to be a music minor and major in medicine or science. If they are considering entering the music field, I want to support them there as well,” Hudnall said.
MYSO will be performing their winter concert at the Rialto Center for Performing Arts on Feb. 16 at 3 p.m.
