Three Page-Turners…from Hollis Gillespie

Humorist and author Hollis Gillespie visited the studio to chat with WABE’s John Lemley about three of her favorite books.  Hollis is herself the author of several works of essays, and writes a humor column that runs each month in Atlanta Magazine.

In this segment, she talks about how two of her own favorite books got her through a stint living overseas, while a third gets her through ordinary tough days.

Hollis Gillespie’s Picks:
  • A Book of Common Prayer by Joan Didion
  • Out of Africa by Isak Dineson
  • The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
