Tony Award Recipient Baayork Lee Directs And Choreographs ‘South Pacific’ In Atlanta

One of the longest-running shows on Broadway, “South Pacific” was ahead of its time.

The Tony Award-winning play follows the lives of U.S. military men, nurses and residents of a Polynesian island during World War II. The show follows two parallel love stories which are threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war.

Tomorrow evening Atlanta’s newest professional theatre company, City Springs Theatre, is presenting “South Pacific” for their inaugural season.

City Lights host Lois Reitzes discussed this Broadway hit with director, choreographer, and Tony Award recipient Baayork Lee.

“South Pacific” will be opening Friday evening in the Byers Theatre at City Springs and will run through March 17.
