WABE Studios Launching New Series Mosaic, Exploring Atlanta’s Diverse Communities
Debut episode highlights Iranian American experiences in Atlanta
ATLANTA – April 27, 2026 – WABE announces the premiere of Mosaic, a new documentary series designed to explore the diverse communities that shape metro Atlanta. The series launches with its pilot episode, Mosaic: An Iranian American Experience, a half-hour documentary centered on the lives and stories of Iranian Americans in metro Atlanta.
Mosaic is envisioned as an ongoing series, with each episode spotlighting a different community across Atlanta. As the pilot, Mosaic: An Iranian American Experience establishes the creative foundation for future installments, highlighting the voices and perspectives that reflect the city’s cultural richness.
Directed and produced by Alphonso Whitfield, the pilot weaves together intimate portraits of entrepreneurs, artists, and families navigating the balance between cultures—building a home between two countries while fostering connection and preserving heritage in the Atlanta metro area. The film offers a heartfelt exploration of identity, belonging, and what it means to be part of the fabric of modern-day America.
Produced in collaboration with Raftermen, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaking team based in Atlanta, the episode brings a cinematic and deeply human approach to storytelling that sets the tone for the series.
“At WABE Studios, we strive to amplify the voices that make up our entire community and tell stories that bring people closer together. We’re incredibly grateful to the Azadi Family Foundation for supporting this pilot,” said Daniel Keller-Bradshaw, VP of WABE Studios.
This premiere episode was made possible through a generous donation from the Farideh and Ali Azadi Foundation.
Mosaic: An Iranian American Experience marks the first chapter in a broader storytelling initiative from WABE Studios, with future episodes set to explore additional communities across the region. The premiere episode of Mosaic airs on WABE TV May 7 at 9 p.m., and will also be available on WABE’s YouTube channel.
