This year marks the 49th year of the legendary Stonewall Riots that were a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the United States.

The Fox Theatre is partnering with The Atlanta Pride Committee and The LGBT Institute at The National Center for Civil and Human Rights to have Tig Notaro and Wanda Sykes kick-off a two-day event.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Sykes about what it was like to perform at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2009 and the criticism the legendary comedian has received for being a consulting producer for nine episodes of the “Roseanne” reboot.

The show on June 20 starts at 8 p.m. You can find tickets on The Fox Theatre’s website.
