Cold Temps On The Way For Metro Atlanta, North Georgia

Forecast puts high temperatures Wednesday in the upper 40’s which is close to 20 degrees colder than Tuesday.

Winter-like weather is headed our way starting Wednesday.

The forecast puts high temperatures in the upper 40’s which is close to 20 degrees colder than Tuesday.

Nikole Listemaa, a National Weather Service forecaster in Peachtree City, said a wintry mix could be in the future.

“The lingering moisture from Tuesday’s system will interact with some cold air,” Listemaa said. “And that’s going to give us some chances of a rain, snow mix or even some light snow.”

She said right now forecasts show a slim chance of this happening.

“As the system nears the area we can further refine where the highest chances will be,” she said. “But right now the chances of a rain-snow mix or snow are still in the 20 to 30 percent range.”

Listemaa said north Georgia can expect to see some accumulation of snow.

But by Monday, temperatures should return to our late autumn normal of highs in the 50’s and 60’s.
