Broadway Star Returns To Atlanta For ‘A Little Princess’

Theatrical Outfit has brought a Broadway star home to Atlanta in their production of “A Little Princess.”
Atlanta-based actor Emerson Steele has performed in major roles in New York – including Young Violet in the award-winning Broadway play “Violet – and is now leading this hometown production as Sara Crewe, the plucky daughter of a Victorian explorer.
Lois Reitzes sat down with Steele and director Mira Hirsch to talk about the challenges facing young actors and about the play’s progressive look at the role of princesses in storytelling.
“What makes her a princess is not a royal birth,” explained Hirsch, “it’s everything else.”
“She likes to help others,” Steele chimes in. “Help them become and grow into their princess self.”
“A Little Princess” runs at Theatrical Outfit Dec. 3 through 27.
