One person’s death is now linked to a massive Legionnaires’ disease outbreak tied to the downtown Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.

The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed to WABE on Tuesday afternoon that the number of suspected cases also has grown.

Including the deceased, there are now 12 lab-confirmed cases and 61 probable illnesses linked to a bacteria that causes the pneumonia-like infection.

The Sheraton remains closed indefinitely.

Health officials are now asking anyone who stayed at the hotel between June 12 and July 15 to complete an online survey.
