of City Lights with Lois Reitzes & Closer Look with Rose Scott

You may have heard the 10th Anniversary shows on January 13th, 2024. Rose Scott and Lois Reitzes hosted a live show together. They also followed this up with a second segment which highlighted their favorite moments from the last ten years. Below are links to the shows they talked about.

Closer Look with Rose Scott

At The Eye Of The Storm: Perception And Practice At Peachtree and Pine3 Part series (Green Eyeshade award winner)

One of the first Closer Look features was a 3-part series about the city’s Peachtree and Pine Homeless Shelter. This was the largest shelter (at the time) in the southeast. It was located in a prime midtown Atlanta neighborhood.

While very much needed, there was a faction that wanted the shelter closed down, some cited safety concerns and others stated it didn’t belong. Closer Look spent an entire day inside the shelter. (2015)


One on One with Xernona Clayton-Civil Rights Legend/Broadcast Pioneer

This is one of a few appearances on Closer Look, this one was taped in front of a live audience, Rose talks with civil rights icon Xernona Clayton. The pioneering broadcasting journalist and Trumpet Awards founder was recently honored with an 8-foot statue in downtown Atlanta. Clayton talks candidly with Rose about her life, her passion to help others and the importance of operating in excellence. (2023)


Finding Missing Shy Shy

On September 4, 1998, 8-year-old Shy’Kemmia Pate disappeared in Unadilla, Georgia. Her disappearance is still an open investigation. In August of 2017, we talked about this still missing little girl with Agent Jason Shoudel then with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

And then we aired the conversation about Shy’Kemmia ”Shy Shy” Pate’s disappearance with Shy Shy’s mom, Veronica Pate; sister LaSwanda Hickey; and aunt Rotando Freeman. (2017)
