The Board of Education named Dr. Mary Elizabeth Davis, chief academic officer for the Cobb County School District, and Dr. Douglas Hendrix, assistant superintendent for school improvement in Clayton County Public Schools, as a possible replacement for Henry County Superintendent Rodney Bowler.

Since 2014, Davis has been responsible for the advancement of teaching and learning of 114,000 students across 112 schools.

Hendrix this school year assumed the role of supervision of instructional improvement and learning outcomes in Georgia’s fifth largest school system with over 54,000 students.
