Kroger announced it will refund Decatur residents overcharged on their “Pay As You Throw” bag purchases.
Under the Pay As You Throw sanitation system, residents purchase special trash bags and trash must be in those bags to be collected. A Decaturish reader who shops at the Kroger located at 2875 N. Decatur Road noticed that the Kroger charged $18 for the blue bags, which are supposed to be $15.12 and $8 for the yellow bags, which are supposed to be sold for $7.56.
The reader contacted the city, and City Manager Andrea Arnold confirmed that the city had contacted Kroger about the issue.
