A new 40-day session of the Georgia General Assembly is officially underway, beginning Monday with Gov. Brian Kemp laying out his priorities for the upcoming session.

Kemp announced new budget proposals for education and school safety, including an extra $21,635 each for safety, on top of $47,125 already budgeted this year.
