Forest Park Mayor Angelyne Butler says that the city is thinking outside of the box when it comes to attracting and retaining employees.

Last year, the Forest Park City Council unanimously approved the city’s minimum wage increase to $23.46 per hour for full-time employees. Currently, the Peach State’s minimum wage remains at $5.15/per hour. However, by law, the state must pay the federal minimum wage of $7.25/per hour.

During this legislative session, Georgia Democrats filed HB 343— the Georgia Living Wage Act, and HB 321— the Vincent Fort Living Wage Act in an effort to boost workers’ earnings.
