During the holiday season, many focus on the “art of sacrifice.” Webster defines sacrifice as “the surrendering of something for the sake of something else.” So, the story of a professional basketball player turned pre-K teacher of the year piqued the interest of “Morning Edition” host Lisa Rayam.
Johnathon Hines is one of few black male preschool teachers in Georgia. He said that makes his mission all the more important.
Recently, Rayam chatted with him at Barack Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology in DeKalb County.
