Impressionist Works Donated To The High Museum By Atlanta Philanthropists

Imagine an Atlanta home with walls adorned with original paintings by some of the most important French artists of the last two centuries — paintings you’d see only in a museum.

This home belongs to Doris and Shouky Shaheen, and thanks to their generosity — 24 of their paintings now belong to Atlanta’s High Museum of Art.

For the past 50 years, Doris and Shouky Shaheen have been collecting impressionist, post-impressionist and modernist paintings. Last August, it was announced that the Shaheens would donate the entirety of their collection, which focuses on French art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
