The number of candidates entering the 2026 Georgia gubernatorial race continues to grow. On Tuesday, Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones officially announced his candidacy.
Other candidates in the race include Attorney General Chris Carr, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, state Sen. Jason Esteves and state Rep. Derrick Jackson.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Atlanta-based political strategist and analyst Fred Hicks shares insights on the race so far. He also discussed candidates who could potentially enter the race, endorsements, and what’s next in the lead-up to 2026.
