Judge holds Fulton County Commission in contempt of court, ordering $10,000 a day fine

A judge has found the Fulton County Commission in civil contempt of court for refusing to comply with an order to appoint the local Republican Party’s two nominees for the Fulton County Election Board.

Superior Judge David Emerson has ordered the commission to pay a fine of $10,000 per day starting Friday until the body approves the two nominees.
