Members of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus are calling on Gov. Brian Kemp to re-examine his handling of COVID-19.
In a letter to Kemp last week, the group wrote the state needs to be more aggressive in efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Members cite data showing the pandemic’s effects here are worse now than in April when the Kemp implemented a short-lived shelter in place mandate.
The letter comes as COVID-19 vaccinations lag, new cases spike and hospitals struggle. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office has deployed a refrigerated morgue truck, with another on standby.
