Alexandra James, a recent graduate of Georgia State University’s Middle Level Education program, says there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for teaching, educational equity is more than equality and that each student has different needs.
“Students are individuals, and they show up as their whole selves, as they should,” James said. “And so their whole selves should be educated and taught and cared for.”
James is a rising second-year resident in Georgia State’s CREATE Teacher Residency Program, which stands for Collaboration and Reflection to Enhance Atlanta Teacher Effectiveness.
