Thousands of refugees in Georgia face reassessment as the Trump Administration calls into question all refugee entries from the Biden Administration.
The U.S. Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services said in a memo it intends to reinterview refugees who entered the country between January 2021 and February 2025. Nationwide, that’s more than 200,000 people.
Those who help resettle refugees in Georgia estimate that the number could be around 9,000 people in the state.
