The Gwinnett County Board of Education unanimously approved Alexandra Estrella as the new superintendent of Georgia’s largest school district on Wednesday.
This comes after the board terminated former Superintendent Calvin Watts’ contract early last year and installed Al Taylor as interim superintendent.
Watts, who received more than $400,000 in total annual compensation, out-earned Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Attorney General Chris Carr, who all earn less than $200,000.
