A 12-year-old DeKalb County student is experiencing the “sweet spell of success” for the third consecutive year.

Sarv Dharavane, a sixth grader from Peachtree Middle School, took home first place in the 65th Annual Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) State Spelling Bee on March 20 at Georgia State University.

After 22 rounds, the student spelled the words “Aitchbone” and “Simal” to continue his reign as the state’s spelling bee champion.
