Fulton County will delay all election night reporting until after 11:02 p.m. because a Sandy Springs polling place is staying open until that time after spending four hours shut down.

Police placed Ison Springs Elementary School in Sandy Springs on a “soft” lockdown earlier Tuesday because of reports of possible gunshots in the area. Voting was paused during that time.

Cobb County precincts stayed open later

Cobb County officials say 11 precincts stayed open past the normal 7 p.m. voting deadline for primary elections on Tuesday due to technical issues earlier.

Officials say the issues stemmed from the poll pad touch screens used to check voters in. Polling places were able to successfully use back-up manual check-in procedures in the meantime until normal voting procedures resumed this afternoon.

“We are urging everyone to stay in line and be patient,” said Cobb County Democratic Committee Chair Essence Johnson. “If you are in line, stay in line. If you have not yet had a chance to vote there is still time, but the clock is ticking.
