DECATUR, Ga. — The city of Decatur has launched a limited Lime e-scooters and bikes pilot program concurrently with the Decatur WatchFest ‘26 to support travel and evaluate whether scooters and bikes could be a long-term option in Decatur.
The program began at the end of June and will operate for the length of WatchFest, which ends July 19, according to a city news release.
The pilot adds Lime e-scooters and bikes to a service area centered on downtown Decatur. The temporary zone includes Church Street, East Ponce de Leon Avenue, College Avenue, West Howard Avenue, South McDonough Street and Oakview Road.
To utilize the program, riders must use the Lime app to locate a device and must start and end trips within the designated service area. Parking is encouraged in marked corrals to help keep sidewalks clear. Improperly parked scooters will result in penalties to the rider, according to the city.
Residents are invited to provide feedback on the pilot program and their own experience by contacting [email protected] or submitting feedback through this link: https://form.jotform.com/261763346203050.
