Alicia Bognanno is the unapologetically raw and fiercely talented frontwoman of Nashville-based rock band Bully. Known for her searing vocals and razor-sharp songwriting, Bognanno channels a mix of vulnerability and defiance into music that resonates with fans of punk and grunge alike.
A producer as well as a performer, she’s carved out a reputation for hands-on creative control, writing, recording, producing and engineering much of Bully’s music herself. Her last album with Bully, “Lucky For You,” came out in June of last year, and she’s on tour right now with rising indie pop star Suki Waterhouse. She plays at The Eastern on Dec. 21.
She recently joined “City Lights” producer Jacob Smulian to discuss music, vulnerability and her current tour. Speaking about her journey, Bognanno reflected on the supportive relationship she shares with her fans.
