Atlanta Ballet at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center

Atlanta Ballet will soon begin performances at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. WABE's Lois Reitzes speaks with their Executive Director, Barry Hughson.

Atlanta, Ga –

Barry Hughson, Executive Director of Atlanta Ballet, started as a dancer “twenty years and 100 pounds ago”, he says jokingly. That experience, he says, gives him a special perspective on the needs of dancers. Among those needs was a performance space better suited to ballet. According to Hughson that is exactly what the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center provides. From March 13th to the 16th they will perform In the Upper Room by choreographer Twyla Tharp.
