One of Atlanta’s most popular trails will finally be illuminated at night.

Atlanta BeltLine Inc. just released a bid for the installation of lighting and security cameras along about two miles of the Eastside Trail, from Monroe Drive to Irwin Street.

Atlanta Business Chronicle wrote in March that there was new momentum for the roughly $1.6 million project. It would include 110 lighting fixtures and 18 security cameras, according to plans.

Bids are due July 11. Once a contractor is selected, the project would be complete within 180 days.
