For 25 years, Atlanta Celebrates Photography lived up to its name by spotlighting both emerging and established photographers around the city. Now, the organization is in a transformative new chapter, changing its name to Atlanta Center for Photography and opening its first brick-and-mortar location on Edgewood Avenue.

An inaugural exhibition opened this space on Oct, 26, showcasing the work of Texan artist Kalee Appleton titled “New Paths.”

In this interview, “City Lights” producer Summer Evans speaks with the new executive director of Atlanta Center for Photography, Lindsey O’Connor.

“My approach has been to really push the boundaries of photography and push the medium past what people presume photography to be,” O’Connor says.

Kalee Appleton’s new exhibition, “New Paths,” is on view through Jan. 6, and more information is available here.
