On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Comedy,” Atlanta’s funniest locals share insights on the perks and perils of their profession. This edition features Atlanta-based comedian, producer and tour guide Connor Lyons.
Lyons has a background in theater and film, but a few years ago, he decided to try out standup comedy after watching some Atlanta comedians at a local dive bar. “I got into standup because it was so much more accessible and less pretentious than the acting world,” said Lyons. “There wasn’t an audition or self-tape or an email or online submission process. You just show up to the bar, sign up, get on the mic, and take it from there.”
