Anyone looking to buy or sell a home in metro Atlanta knows one thing: The housing market hasn’t been this hot in more than a decade.
Average metro Atlanta home prices were up 10% year over year in February, according to the latest S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices. The indices, which do not include new construction, are closely followed by industry professionals.
That annual increase is in the 95th percentile of all monthly reports for Atlanta since 1990, said Craig J. Lazzara, managing director and global head of index investment strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices.
